Arctic Study and Exploration

Tomsk Polytechnic University contributes vigorously to the study of the Russian Arctic shelf, particularly to the Arctic climate system affected by the global warming. Scientists are studying the transport and transformation of organic carbon in the Arctic land-shelf-atmosphere system, massive emissions of methane from the bottom sediments of the Eastern Arctic seas into the water column-atmosphere interface.
