About the Dance Community
In 2022, the dance team of Tomsk Polytechnic University was transformed into the Dance TPU Community. On the basis of the university team, two new teams were formed, such as Contemporary PRO (the team choreographer is Anastasia Anisenya) and SEVEN PM (the team choreographer is Olga Filatova). Students can more deeply engage in contemporary and dancehall trends. Additionally, they can improve their hip-hop abilities under the direction of the head choreographer, Ekaterina Sulema.
Ekaterina Sulema is a TPU choreographer and a professional trainer and choreographer. Her total training experience is over 16 years.
Ekaterina Sulema has been fond of dancing since childhood. Dancing is her life. Ekaterina has a great experience with different dance styles such as classical dance, folk dance, ballroom dance, and go-go. She had been a choreographer for the TPU Dancedrom dance team for 2 years, from 2006 to 2008. In 2008, she was named Dancedrom's best choreographer. Ekaterina worked as part of the team of choreographers at the Sentenced to Dance project.
The dance performances of the leader have a lot of wins. Among the most notable are the Club Dance Awards 2007, two seasons of the Unidance Project in 2006 and 2007, the Second Open Cup of Russia 2008 in go-go, and the Siberian Championship “Social Dance Show - 2007”. Ekaterina Sulema entered the top-20 at the World Dance Olympics in 2008, the top-10 at the World Dance Olympics in 2009, passed a master class with Kelly Yusef Peters (NY, USA), master classes at Danceville in 2010, IN PLEASURE 2013 dance camp, and many more.
The rhythmic improvisation of such a mentor is a dance technology for awakening fantasy and removing fixations. She forms, develops, and teaches others to enjoy dancing. Ekaterina helps her students find, enrich, and enhance their natural talents.
Certainly, special talent and training are needed to get on the big stage or participate in battles and jams. Our team will help you with this. We will demonstrate and teach you how to move.
Students on the dance team participate in the biggest TPU events, perform at city venues, and take part in various competitions and projects.
