About the Ensemble

The Restless Hearts ensemble is the TPU's legendary creative team. 2023 will be their anniversary year. The ensemble turns 25 years old. Restless Hearts is a community of people who have become like a second family to each other. The ensemble's concerts are always sold out.

For the first time, the members of the Restless Hearts ensemble gathered together in the House of Culture in February 1998. They had one goal, which was to unite lovers of TPU folk singing into a choir. The initiator and organizer was an employee of the university, Claudia Petrovna Shiryamova. Thanks to her energy and perseverance, the ensemble got a place for rehearsals. They invited a professional musician, Tatyana Ivanovna Bychkova, to be the ensemble's leader and accompanist.

The group's repertoire includes folk comic and lyrical songs, the best pieces of music of the Soviet period in Russia, and songs of Tomsk authors.

In 2007, the ensemble took on a new repertoire direction, such as soloists and duets performing musical compositions using the musical minus.

The Restless Hearts ensemble prepared and held festive dance evenings such as New Year's Kaleidoscope, Signs of Spring, and the In the Grove or in the Garden theme evening. The ensemble participated in projects of other ICC groups, such as the Sour Cabbage Festival (Peresek folkloristic ethnographic ensemble), Maslenitsa at the TPU ICC, and Humor in Music (an amateur concert party of the Opera and Vocal Music Lover Club). A joint project, “Evening of Romance”, the reporting concert, has been prepared with the Opera and Vocal Music Lover Club.

The Restless Hearts ensemble is actively involved in concert activities, performing on the stage of the TPU ICC and at city venues. The ensemble constantly takes part in competitions and festivals, where it invariably wins prizes.
