It is a specialized academic program, providing students with important skills for designing and programming robots. The Tomsk University pays attention to the practice of those skills, therefore there is a technological business incubator - Robototechnika. It encourages students to participate in various competitions in robotic engineering. In addition, the program was designed for training specialists engaged in designing of robots and robotic systems for both industrial and non-industrial applications and in the development of software for these systems.

In the current condition of robotization in almost all industries, the present program gives wide opportunities for students to find a high-paid and interesting job.

Learning output

The program will provide students with advanced knowledge and skills, allowing them to:

  • solve engineering problems in the development, production, and operation of modern mechatronic and robotic devices and systems (including smart ones) using world-class technologies, modern equipment, and software
  • professionally operate with hardware and software products for designing, analyzing and synthesizing control systems for mechatronic and robotic systems
  • organize and conduct analytical, simulation and experimental studies for designing, production, and operation of mechatronic and robotic tools and systems
  • understand and feel confident about current methods, algorithms, models, and technical solutions in mechatronics and robotics and to know the areas of their application, including in automated manufacturing
  • communicate in professional English, thereby being able to work in international groups and companies
