Overview

The technologies of non-destructive testing have become crucially important for security and various industrial areas. The program was developed to provide students with advanced knowledge in the fields of measuring transformations, information technologies, information-measuring systems, existing methods and means of measurement and control in production, and trends in the following areas. Tomsk Polytechnic University has a rich history in the matter of non-destructive testing technologies and devices, which are used all around the world. Thereby it has solid feedback, allowing continually improving the quality of this program.

Learning output

After the program, graduates will be able to:

  • apply modern software for the development and editing design and technical documentation and use elements of descriptive geometry and engineering graphics
  • develop functional and structural device schema
  • design and construct standard parts and components using standard computer-aided design tools
  • conduct the technological preparation of production process
  • conduct metrological support of technological aspects of production processes; apply standard methods to control characteristics of products and production process parameters
  • conduct tuning and pilot testing of certain types of devices and systems in the laboratory and production sites
  • conduct technical control of the production process, including the implementation of quality management systems
