The Master degree program in Photonic Technologies and Lighting Engineering was designed to train specialists for research and engineering activities in the areas of laser technology in industry and medicine, optical information technologies for studying materials, development of new principles and methods of using laser technology for testing materials and processing of products by radiation streams, and specialists for production of LED light sources. The program includes participation in real research projects on the development of new technologies and materials. Along with this, the program uses research and academic facilities of the University R&D laboratories and centers, and TPU partners like Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science, Institute of High-Current Electronics of Russian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science, Research Institute for Semiconductor Devices, and others.

The program was designed to equip students with necessary skills, allowing them to:

  • design, develop and implement technological processes and quality control of devices, systems, and elements of optotechnics
  • conduct tuning processes of optical production
  • be familiar with new trends in the field and well be able to work with high-tech
  • find optimal solutions when creating individual devices and optotechnics systems
  • manage new product and technology development programs
  • coordinate the work of staff for development and implementation of new solutions (from scratch)

The program graduates will be equipped with solid knowledge and skills, allowing them to work as engineers, able to handle and support the effective operation of complex and high-precision laser equipment, high-tech automated optical systems used in both scientific and industrial areas. Along with this, they can work as experts and researchers in the field of photonic and lighting technologies.
