Overview

The program is aimed to equip specialists with the skills in the development of technologies for creating and using instruments and systems for obtaining, recording and processing information about the environment, biological and engineering objects and ready to ensure development, production, operation, maintenance and repair of testing and control equipment. The specialists will have professional knowledge and practical skills in:

  • advanced designing methods using information and computer technologies
  • development, production and maintenance of equipment and systems for various purposes

Through education period, the students can undergo internships at enterprises of the University strategic partners in the following areas:

  • petroleum and petrochemical industries
  • nuclear and thermal energy industries
  • coal and mining industries
  • aviation and shipbuilding industries
  • railway and road transport industries

The program possesses all necessary up-to-date equipment and actively cooperates with the Tomsk University laboratories thereby providing solid theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Among the program international partners, there are Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and Czech Technical University. It is worth mentioning, that this following program was designed within the major specialization – Instrument Engineering. This specialization also includes the program in Industrial Tomography of Complex Systems

The program was designed to equip students with necessary skills, allowing them to:

  • supervise team-work, including an international one, effectively manage units involved in monitoring, diagnosing, and ensure the safe operation of hazardous production facilities
  • apply knowledge on the structure of matter, on interaction of all types of physical fields with matter, on how to obtain the necessary information about the state of objects
  • solve problems of control, diagnosis, quality assurance
  • perform programs and operations of non-destructive testing and technical diagnostics using advanced equipment and technology
  • objectively assess technical condition of objects and resource of their safe operation
