Overview

The program main goal is to train highly qualified specialists able to conduct engineering surveys in the construction of various objects. The balanced program allows training of both research and engineering staff. Engineers can work in the fields of the petroleum industry, water management and public utilities, engineering-geological and engineering-hydrometeorological surveys, and rational use and protection of natural waters.   

 

The program uses advanced equipment and laboratory facility to provide students practical skills and knowledge:

  • hydrogeochemical laboratory of the Research Center - Water (chemical, microbiological and gas analysis)
  • construction survey equipment and devices ‘
  • Laboratory for Soil Science and Hydrodynamic Modeling

 

Along with this, the University cooperates with international partners, like:

  • Kent State University, USA
  • Paul Sabatier University, France
  • National Center for Scientific Research, Laboratory of Georesources and Environment, France
  • China Geological University, China
  • Nanchang Technical University, China
  • East China University of Technology, China.

Learning output

This program equips students with all the necessary skills and knowledge, allowing them to:

  • conduct engineering-environmental, engineering-hydrometeorological, engineering-geodetic, and engineering-geological surveys
  • monitor water bodies and water management systems and facilities, including water treatment plants, low-pressure dams, water intakes from underground and surface sources, drainage and irrigation systems, storage ponds, bank protection structures
  • apply technologies and organization procedure of construction work in the water industry
  • conduct mathematical modeling of hydrological and hydrogeochemical processes in the catchment basin area
  • know and apply regulations and legal framework for water management and ensure efficient and safe interaction of industrial, agricultural and municipal enterprises and organizations and state environmental management bodies
