In 2016, TPU joined the top 400 of the QS World University Rankings for the first time, this year the University keeps moving ahead confidently. TPU Rector Petr Chubik commented that further advancement of the University needs be literally gnawed out in a tough competition with the best universities of the world.
‘The situation can be described through the words from Vysotsky’s famous song ‘We are cutting steps down… No step back!’ says the Rector.
‘Climbers know that the closer to the top, the harder each step is’.
Indeed, we would like to move faster. This year we demonstrated good dynamics on employer reputation stepping immediately 71 lines up, on academic reputation we moved up 34 positions and 16 positions on international student ratio. This means that our internationalization strategy and openness to the world brings meaningful effect, the University is getting more noticeable and recognizable abroad. In order to cut the steps down faster, we must bear in mind that the rate of advancement to the top is only possible through a profound team work and the output is defined not by the first coming but by the last one. We still need to ensure that all TPU staff understands the importance of personal contribution to the overall output and that everyone is pursuing a common goal. Team work implies contribution of every single person, not only the best and the most talented ones. With this in mind we will be able to achieve new and breakthrough results.’
